How To Do More Homework In Less Time: Great Techniques To Use

Approximately 90% of the students employ special techniques to learn and complete their homework on time. Parents are a great source of encouragement and their association with kids at the time of their learning in terms of demonstration, extra support, teaching organization and explaining any tricky problem to kids becomes a time saver.

If you too want to be one of them, check out what all you need to do

Organization: It is the first and foremost skill that you should teach your kids. If they keep all their books and notebooks properly, they will hardly waste any time while finding them.

Homework is a learning tool: This work is not only in written form but many times kids are supposed to learn them also. Hence, it is suggested that whenever they do, they do it diligently- writing while learning and understanding.

Know the school homework policy: Different teachers have different requirements and attending parent’s teachers meeting can become extremely helpful if the student is not picking up the speed. The assignment policies planned by the teachers are intended to inculcate special skills in them. Talk to them and discuss the ways to hone the skills of your ward.

Fix homework friendly zone: Ensure it is well lit and have all the supplies nearby such as books, copies, pens, pencils, glue, scissors, Atlas, Dictionary etc.

Allot regular time for everyday tasks: Fixed assignments time prevents your kids from making any excuses. Make them complete their work either immediately after having lunch or in the evening after coming from the park.

Divide the tasks: If there is too much homework, divide it into parts followed by breaks to keep it interesting and manageable.

No distractions in the study area: Cell phone, loud music, guests; Television etc should not be used at the time of study. If it’s any conversation regarding studies with a classmate, you can entertain it.

Avoid spoon feeding: Habit of homework should be cultivated right from the beginning. Parents should not always help their wards but should offer them suggestions along with directions in certain cases. Children should themselves sense the responsibility. Let them learn from their own mistakes.

Monitor them: Ask them how many assignments they have completed and how many are pending. Enquire about their future tests and quizzes. Check all their assignments and encourage them for all that they have done.

Be a good example yourself: Examples are better than verbal teaching. Children are more likely to follow you diligently once they watch you enjoying after completing your tasks. Praise them for their achievements and all their efforts.
